A. We primarily serve the medical and commercial industries.
Q. What kind of engineering services do you provide?
A. We are a full service engineering firm specializing in embedded device firmware and hardware, cloud computing, mobile and desktop applications, device data and security, and IoT connected devices.
Q. What is your engineering process?
A. Our engineering process focuses on innovation, transformation, design, and delivery. To help foster innovation, we stay atop the latest technologies and ideas in software development, tools, hardware, and project planning to create novel solutions throughout the development process. To transform, we work seamlessly with our clients to match their ideas to a design path that provides a high probability of success by avoiding technology traps that divert countless unrealized projects. Then, using our many years of experience, we offer complete end-to-end solutions to engineer and design products. Finally, we assemble and critically test all phases of development in order to deliver the best product possible, while working hand in hand with regulatory bodies to ensure the final product meets or exceeds design goals and standards.
Q. What sets you apart from competitors?
A. Whether your project is at the beginning, middle, or final stages, we offer our services to ensure your product is expertly designed. Cedarware offers unique technical solutions, a proven track record of success, and a strong client-focused culture.
Q. What quality control measures do you use?
A. We are proud to be ISO 13485:2016 certified for the design and manufacture of medical devices. Projects can be configured under a full ISO 13485:2016 quality management system, or under a hybrid model with reduced requirements, similar to ISO 9001. Regardless of the configuration, we pride ourselves on quality. For engineering, all software products are controlled with Git and GitHub source control and incorporate continuous integration with GitHub actions. Software builds are Dockerized, automatic, and containerized with traceability back to the source. For production, projects are integrated directly within our QMS system for issue tracking within our Jira and Confluence tools. Additionally, full incoming inspections are performed, and receiving and lot control are tracked through our ERP system.
Q. What types of projects have you worked on?
A. We have worked on a variety of different projects in the MedTech and Commercial industries. Our projects have included Alzheimer’s treatment devices, enteral feeding systems, smart water meters, a gamified home fitness system, handheld neurostimulator devices for dry eye disease, and many more. In addition to the engineering products themselves, we have developed manufacturing applications, cloud environments, and customer facing applications to support the devices.
Q. What can I expect in terms of communication when working with Cedarware?
A. We work hand in hand with clients to design and develop their projects transparently. Clients have access to project tracking development schedule and milestones through our Jira system, as well as ERP access for BOM data. Slack and Teams are utilized for direct, real-time communication between us and our customers.
